Brookings Skating Academy Mini Session - Fall 2026

Classes meet Mondays and Thursdays, November 16–December 10, from 6:30–7:00 p.m. There will be no classes on November 26.

Register for Mondays, Thursdays, or both! Attending both days provides more opportunities to practice and build skills.

Beginning Hockey
Intended for Mites and 8U players.

• • Learn beginning stride technique, two-foot and one-foot glides, stopping, and more!

  • Skaters will be grouped by skill level if registration numbers allow.

  • Helmets are strongly encouraged.

Freestyle
Intended for skaters who have passed ISI Delta.

• • Develop advanced skating skills, jumps, and spins!

Classes are taught by certified Professional Members of the Ice Sports Industry (ISI), with no more than eight skaters per coach, allowing time for individual attention.

Location: Larson Ice Center, Brookings, SD.

Skates: Skates are available from the Larson Ice Center skate room for $5 per session and must be returned after each class. Please use single-blade skates; double-blade skates are not permitted.

Inclement Weather: Each family must use their best judgment about safely driving out to the rink for class. In the rare event of class cancellation due to inclement weather, there is no make-up class available, and no refunds will be given.
